Merry Christmas to you! The labels look ok to me. You have to be careful
looking at a label overlaid on a slice as you are looking at an arbitrary
2d cut through a folded 3d surface. Try viewing the on the inflated surface
in tksurfer and see if they make more sense to you.

Annotation option is not available in the stable release version. If you
are able to run the development version, you can load annotation file
from the Surface control panel on the left. Or you can load it from the
command-line like:
