You might try this one (eventually apply it by hand) if the problem
resides in the changed capabilities function. I mad it for myself a

Hello,
I'm in the process of compiling the right libraries to be able to try
out freevo2 cvs (or svn actually :). But I've run into this problem that
pydirectfb (which is something that freevo2 requires I guess) requires
DirectFB cvs, but SDL12 doesn't compile against the cvs version. And I'd

Not much of an expert myself but I do think I know the answer for this
one. The card you have, ie. the nova class cards are the so called
'budget' cards. The main difference between these cards and the other
class, the so called 'premium' or 'full featured' cards is that the
'budget' ones lack mpeg
Just in case anybody's interested I fixed this by deleting the
(obviously stale) file '/var/run/freevo-0.pid'. Don't know how it got
there but it prevented freevo from starting up. I think this could be
considered as a bug, no?

I'm using the debian packages of freevo and I've had the following
problem since I updated to the latest rc3 release. When ever I try to
watch a movie (I'm using mplayer) freevo dies. Playing the movie goes on
since the mplayer process doesn't die, but I have to kill it by hand
since it doesn't reg
the tv. Would it
be possible for you to send me the (relevant parts of the) local_conf.py
file since it seems that would be a great starting point for me aswell.
anyhow, thanks agiain

Hello,
I hope you guys don't mind me asking this, but there's been on and off
conversation of dvb support in freevo for a long time. I'd like to know if
anybody is working on anything related? And if not, if there is something
done in the past that I could take a look at.
Thanks, and actually th

I want to thank you all for freevo, I've looked at it previously but now
I took the time to configure it properly and I'm just amazed of its
capabilities. It truly is a remarkably nice and easy home multimedia
software, so thanks a lot !!!
