With OS 9.1, I would not bother unless you receive Microsoft Word documents
Other than the lab virus some company invented that cannot
re-distribute itself and isn't in the public anyway, what viruses for
OSX are you talking about?

- OS X ever in my entire life, nor do I ever plan to, and have never
had a problem.
I don't think its worth the money or hassle or hard drive space.
Do what makes you feel safe. Simply using a Macintosh makes me feel
safe
I got hit very hard by the autostart worm aroiund 1997 or 98, and lost all
sorts of data. Since then, I run virus protection on both my Macs and PCs.

Yes, they do read CDs.

Well, here goes another learning curve. I bought an external Yamaha firewire
case that originally held a CD/RW from a fellow swapper. I found that it
works just fine with my G3 700 iBook running 10.3.5 when I put a Memorex
52x32x52x CD/RW burner in it.
