First off, I'd recommend going to 10.3.9 - works fine on my Pismo. We
have a fairly similar setup, though the Pismo is retired to occasional

Just for trouble shooting's sake, create a new network location with

I have an iBook 500 with a seemingly defective trackpad, which is running OS

Can this indicate that the OS doesn't see the
Hi, Folks!
What's your best idea of the wisest way to maintain the greatest
functionality of an iBook 500 battery? I've just replaced mine, and realize
that my habit of plugging it into the AC adapter whenever I'm able to may
not be the best strategy to maintain the battery's longevity.

My Understanding is that you should use the computer on battery power
alone at least infrequently, if not regularly, and you should use the
iBook until the battery is fully discharged. These activities are
actually good for the performance of the battery, and necessary.

The Wallstreet on Panther is much like the Lombard on Tiger, meaning it is
for the most part compatible, but intentionally restricted only by the
Install program on the CD or DVD. I used the exact same method to install
Tiger on my wife's Lombard and it works great, but the Wallstreet is simply

Are these batteries damaged by allowing them to become completely
discharged?
