As the original poster of this question, I may have had a buried memory about mention of the DVD player's unhappiness with external drives, which Luis now revives. Does anyone have direct experience with the Pismo, Panther, LaCie DVD external and Apple's DVD player? Tony

Pismo DVD: Mats vs LG Round One

There's two things wrong with my brilliant Pismo - the useless DVD/CD drive (on my third, and useless one), and the wobbly Sound Out. The answer to the latter is the Griffin iMic. Small, self-powered, and makes the sound better. Though it does, of course, use up a USB port. TONY3ts -- G-Books
