I was thinking.I have only been in os X for a little while and had not had to do anything inside my computer.so that would mean that I have never taken out my batteryso my pram would have never reset..but I recently took my bat out and the next time I turned it on the brightness

If you keep your PB plugged in or with the main battery, it shouldn't be causing this problem. Whenever you have to reset the date, that means that the PRAM has failed, due to lack of power. You could maybe check PowerBook Parts for that battery... -Laurent. -- =

Heres an update on the problem..I have zapped the pram and deleted all the mac os x caches but still nothing has changed.If it goes to sleep then it wakes up with a dark screen and nothing short of a restart will get the screen to light up again.and still it has a dark screen when I
