Hi,
I can boot from my big SATA drives with the adapters perfectly.
Regards, Jörg.
So, yawg is Jörg...
I've had this PowerMac G3 for several years unused because first I
couldn't plug in the monitor and it was very difficult to find an
adapter. Finally I succeeded and then discovered that the keyboard I
had needed USB and the PowerMac had none, so I eventually got a card

The Beige PowerMac G3 is still useable, but probably a little too slow
and too expensive to upgrade to make the effort worthwhile. It's one
of the toughest, with a lot of small quirks related to power supply,
voltage regulator,

I've been having some issues with my G4 DA; It will not sleep
properly:
When I click on sleep from the Apple menu while logged in it will go
to sleep, but the monitor will not wake up. Now, lately, when in the
log in window, I click on sleep and it will go to sleep, but the
intenal fan will

Sometimes third party hardware can cause sleep issues ( USB2.0 PCI cards being
the main culprit with this problem ) so it may be your PL CPU upgrade - maybe
not.
I don't think a start button circuit board or fan upgrade would cause this
although stranger things have been known to happen
I'd
Just out of curiosity, why have you connected the upgraded fan to a molex HD
power connection and not the two pin like the original ?
The fan itself won't cause the sleep problem but how you have it connected just
maybe.
I'm unsure what the voltage is for this - 5V as opposed to 7V ?

Hi,
In the Energy Saver I only have 'Put the Hard Disk(s) to sleep when
possible. Both the Computer sleep and Display sleep I have set to
never, and the Display sleep box is not checked, of course. Nothing
until now has been checked in the Schedule and options menus. I just
checked 'Allow power
Hi all,
I have a G4 Gigabit Ethernet dual 500 I'm looking to speed up for
cheap.
I found a PowerMac G4 800 MHz CPU from a working Quicksilver 2002.
Questions:
- Will this cpu work in the GigEthernet?
and
- Will it be faster, or would the GigE be faster because it has 2
processors?

Keep it and get it going!!! I would take an old Apple over a brand new PC

the Mini??? What version of OS10 is it running??? In

I'm not sure if it would work but I don't think there would be any speed
increase if any because the GigE processors have 1mb of backside cache on each
CPU and the QS 800 only has 256k on chip level 2 cache.

Under Leopard 10.5.8, will an ATI Radeon 9800Pro work ok in a DA Dual

Currently have a GeForce 4MX, which performs OK, minus hardware

a lot now.
