Hi all,
Here is an early draft of the ships you may find in the new Star Trek
game. All technical specifications on the ships have been pulled from
reliable Star Trek sources, and this should give you an idea of the wide
range of abilities and weapons of each type of ship.

Hi Ken,
Yeah, I know what you are getting at. However, I think I have already
decided what format the game will take and how it is going to operate.

The reason for this is obvious. The DS9 computer was a Cardy. If you
think about it, any time the station transporters or the computer talked
they were obviously non-federation style. However, when they would beem

Hi Tom!
Oh, that is to bad, but I like the idea of a real time game.

Hi Sean,
Yeah, the Klingon Federation war began prier to the Dominion War in the
epasode Way of the Warrior. Of course, it was later discovered that the
founders, leaders of the Dominion, was behind the entire war anyway
trying to play with internal politics in the Alpha Quadrant.

Hi Don,
Well, yeah it is possible to decompile the exe file back to readable
code, but readable is all it will be. It won't likely come out clean and
understandable, and I probably wouldn't be compelled to work with the
code even after it was recovered in such a fassion. Allot of time would

Hi,
It most certainly will not be a First Person Shooter. That is a genre
and style like Shades of Doom. My Trek game is going to fall in to the
real time strategy and simulation catagory like Tank Commander for example.

Hi Allan,
If it is the Dominion war the Ferengi, Romulans, and Klingons are allies
of the Federation. There is little room or reason to be fighting with
them under that time period and story line.
That of course leaves open what about the Borg, and they did attack the
Federation last just prier
Hi Tom!
Don't you have a de compiler that will undo the stfc game so you can
retrieve your code? That is not to say even if you can I think the real
time game is the best idea.

You could always do an upgrade-point system.
If you finish a mission really fast, or take out X number of enemies or find
a hidden area, you get a point. Then, after the mission, you can spend that
point on something like hull strength or warp speed or something else.
Just a thought.

Oh, ok. I haven't seen the ninth movie in a long time. That is most likely
why I don't remember them.
Thanks

Well, I am still concered about this game being still another first person

Hi tom,
the dominion war sounds perfect. In addtion, some creative mission plot
lines can have the player fight klingons and romulans and even borg, not to
mention the ferengi, orion piratesand even their own federation ships.
These whould mostly be one shot missions, but it is possible and sho

Hi,
Yeah, the Dominion War was certainly a dark time for the Federation.
While DS9 was on I actually got tired of hearing about the war show
after show as they drug it out, but on the other hand game wize the
story is already written. Just fill in the info for the mission.

Hi,
I find the dominion war to be the darkest side of Star Trek and you were
fighting very limited enemies. I'd prefer something more based on tng and
the films, with a more general time frame and all sorts of missions
personally. Anyway, I think they are two different projects and I'd probably
Hi,
Yeah, the DS9 computer was different. A different actress did the
voice-overs for the DS9 computer than the one who did the voice-overs
for TNG and Voyager.
It did sound kind of smug or have some kind of attitude didn't it?

Hi David.
No, I wasn't suggesting that all the starships be of the same class.
What I was thinking first that all the major classes be represented in
the game. Second, under those classes of starships would be multiple

Hi Phil,
I've noticed over the years that Enterprise, Defiant, and Voyager's jump
to warp drive sounds similar but unique to those starships. They are not
exactly the same. However, the bridge ambience, phasers, photons, are

Hi,
The simple solution would be just to give us ships, otherwise people will
pick the fastest speed, best weapons, etc all the time, and limitations
couldn't be traded off against each other in the same way.If you only have
one ship though, people will go for Enterprise all the time, whatever
Hi all,
I've been reviewing all the possabilities for the storyline for this
game as well as potential enemies, starships, you name it and based on
some recommendations it seams logical that this game be based on the
Dominion War as some have suggested. Sorry, I don't remember who

Hi Thomas,
I forgot that the 23rd century Enterprise had different sound effects than
the 24th century one.
Boy, that would double the size of your game!
Are you going to have the sound of each class engines be different?
But at least the ship's computer's voice was the same through all the
