The quickest and most likely thing to change and fix is to see if hitting the letter q restores your sounds. if that accidently got checked either in the menus or by accidently pressing it, your sounds will stop. Pressing it again acts like a toggle and you should be back in business. If

If your using jfw bring up your window list and chose the first entry in the list if all else fails, either the first or second entry there that says iyp there is a check box that should immediately gain the focus when the window comes up toggle that checkbox and you'll be online. I believe
