Mary, layer names are case sensitive. As you have noted Oracle identifiers default to upper case. You are also using GTEST as your workspace, and this is your namespace prefix. typeName=GTEST:GEOPLAYTHING (note the use of : not .) I recommend using the Layer Preview to see an example of your

No, this is not possible, but it would not really increase performance. Sometimes simplifying a geometry produces an error, you must use the next finer level instead. But if you like, you can add a point geometry column to your postgis table and switch in the SLD. Cheers Christian Zitat
