It is my understanding that scripts, which can be executed in batch
(gimp -i -b), are written using either Script-fu or Python. But is
it still valid in 2.6 to use Perl? I know Perl, so the learning curve
would be faster :-)

Hi Norman,
I found a scanner Canon Canoscan Lide 20 for three Euros on a flee
market. It is working fine and has a maximum resolution of 600x1200
dpi. I did some reproduction of photographs with it . After post
processing with The Gimp, the reproductions were better than the
originals - from the

There are multiple issues involved. For example:
- Since you did not mention anything about calibration, consider that
the scanner, the monitor, and the printer are three different devices,
each of which has to be properly calibrated (starting at the beginning
with the scanner, then the

just xcf files.
I ended up finding them. They were in
\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GIMP-2.0\bin

Does anyone have an idea why GIMP sometimes saves files to locations like
/bin/ or even /WINDOWS/System32/? The files are then invisible
in Explorer--they are only visible via the open/save dialogue in GIMP.

as a parameter, so I removed the additional ones:
