Have you tried "lsof|grep 20012"? It doesn't always work but alot of the
time it will tell you exactly what program is listening on that port.

I agree that on a small system with single disk you don't need to make a
bunch of partitions but a few is sometimes a good thing. This is what
ts of messing around I just "rm " "mkpart logical ext2 " rebooted and it was fixed.
I'm not sure if I got the problem in the first place by something I did
wrong or a bug in 1.2.3.

At Lilo type " vga=ask" which will give you a list of
different "resolutions" to choose from. You can also add a line to
/etc/lilo.conf "vga=ask" and Lilo will automaticly ask you each time. If
you find one option that you like best you can change "ask" to the option
you like on both the Lilo prom

I've had a cdwriter for a while but I hadn't bothered to get it set up for
linux because I hadn't had much luck getting recompiled kernels to work. But I
decided to try once more and this time the only configuration change I made was
to turn SCSI emu on and turn IDE/ATAPI CDROM support off th
