Basically you need two software: one for access the gretl CVS and
another to translate texts.
I'm a Mac user and I use SmartCVS for the CVS work and PoEdit to
translate the program.
Which system do you use: Linux, Windows or Mac OS?

system gretl will run on.

You'd be better off in utf-8, I think. That's the encoding used by
GTK (on all platforms).

I am working with data mixed with different periodicities, so I am using a
gretl database to save the data. I am seeing two problem with this:
1- I created the database in a directory different from the gretldir, userdir
and gretl database dir. So ... I couldn't find a way to open this database

translation in the gretl 1.9.8 release. This is fixed in the
current snapshots for MS Windows and OS X, and in addition
there's a new source package at

You are right. zh_TW is the default language setting for Traditional
Chinese in Windows 2000 and XP. I found that my translation of the
gretl,po can work in Windows with the font "MS Gothic" without "set
LANG=zh_TW" and with the fonts "free mono" or "monospace." in Ubuntu
7.x and 8.x.

all look great but the default fixed font is still Courier New.

"fresh" installed WinXP and Ubuntu 8.10.
On WinXP:
The default fixed font (from CVS) in /Tools/Preferences is "Courier
new." This will not work for Chinese characters in ouput windows.

(build date 2009-01-31) with Chinese characters for the x-axes of the
