I have a RedHat Enterprise 3.4 system running internally at my company and X11 is not
running (since it is a server, but I have it all installed).
So I started vncserver on that.. Here is my xstartup..

Someone was looking at the right thing.. Check your:
~/.vnc/xstartup
I tend to use a low-resource use window manager.. (since i am going over
ISDN and over VPN).

Yes those are the main things to check first. It is basically the same on
all distributions to start ssh as root:
chkconfig sshd on
/etc/init.d/sshd start
To check for the firewall:
iptables -L
Feel free to ask me and I can help you get through this.

I am not sure if anyone is interested in this. But perhaps sending the Vista CD
with him would be useful?

I am interested. I thought Java would be nice since it allowed the applications to be
standalone, portable and web capable.
How can I help on your web interface? What do you feel is a need?

I was not meaning for it to be a big discussion, just curious if it would be a good path to take.
I was hoping to find a simple solution and to help make development quicker and easier
for us to work on it and have it truely portable (versus via wine).
I guess I will look more at FixIT since tha
Yes, i looked at Kylix and did not think it was a good option.. Since again it ties
you to a vendor and limits the portability, limits the support you can get and limits
the number of people that can work or would be interested in working on the code.

CPRS would take too long for me alone to do in my spare time. (rarely available) :)
Also I don't have/use Delphi, which is not standard in the HPC world but then neither
is Java (yet).
I was curious how much it would cost to have a company convert CPRS to
Java for us. It would be a 'off-shore'
Is the data at all centerally located? I have been thinking it is useful
in the sense of epidemiology data collection and automagic notification
of patterns that show up. And a tool for doctors to find treatments that
worked with issues like the avian flu (real-time) and where it is hitting.
Isn't the goal to move to portability? In other words away
from Delphi? That is one of the problems with CPRS already.

I am a newbie to Vista (so please continue to forgive my ignorance :) ).
I ran into the same error. And I found a note on line that said it should run.

I will take a look at the GT.MAcculturation0.3.iso (I am downloading it now).
I just want to help make it work out of the box without any changes.
For starting points ideally I think you would want to be able to run directly off the CD or a
installed tar-ball, without any changes.

Larry and I were playing with this version of Vista/GT.M OpenVistASemiVivAFOIAGold20050825.tgz
It appears it used a default $home_vista, eventhough one was not setup
but it pointed to the GT.M directory versus the OpenVistA directory.
