I think this is a great question, and probably the fruit of applying an anglocentric category to a body of literature that doesn't match. We should consider if anything we call *sifre kodesh* is actually a sacred text in the spirit of the LC category. That said, even inside of the sphere of *sifre

Hi Heidi: Outside of the obvious sacred works, I think it's up to the individual library to decide what gets treated as a sacred work and what doesn't since there isn't an official list. For my money, the Zohar is not a sacred text. Important, intriguing, wrapped in mystery and goof-ball Aramaic
