This has been a problem with older demos for a long time with HL2DM.
Somebody out there in the community developed a front end program that would
load the older binaries so people could get their older demos at least
recorded to avi or tga.
I don't know how they got the older binaries, whether
The reason that this sucks that the demos not working is that for CAL you need
to record demos and keep them for the whole season. Now with them not working
and if someone call you out on something you your team calls the other out, you
will not be able to watch the demos to see if they were
Sometime later today we'll have a required Team Fortress 2 update.

Perhaps the demos should embed the current binaries and load those instead
of the current binaries.

Good idea, but wouldn't demos then be much, much larger in size if binary
files were embedded within?

Handy...
1. make a copy of your gameinfo.txt and call it gameinfo.bak.txt
2. make a batch file called gameinfo.fix add:
date/t
time/t
cd C:\srcds\orangebox\tf
copy gameinfo.bak.txt gameinfo.txt
cd ..
time/t
@pause
Run batch file when an update screws with your gameinfo.txt
- Original
If you run the newest metamod you don't need to edit that anymore

Hi im trying to host a counter strike dedicated server on my computer. (On
windows xp)
Comp specs: q6700 2gb ram 320 gb 7200 rpm hard drive
I used the steam updatetool to get the valve folder and the cstrike folder.
When i create a shortcut on desktop to start server it runs an error
it says
Try not defining the secure port. Otherwise there's already something on
your system holding 27015. You could try using netstat to find it.

You'll need to set up port forwarding on your router to send 27015 to the IP
address of that server.

Also, it sounds as if you may be trying to play CS from the same PC as the
server is set up on. In this case, on your CS command line options in
Steam, add -port 27016

What sucks about that is that teams who deserve to get run over by Medics
who do this are being given a pass. I mean...how hard is it really to break

break that chain, then...oh, whatever. The change is implemented now.

Actually, re-reading that...I'm not sure it's breaking the

I haven't played Goldrush enough to tell if I experience this, but I do
experience something similar with the radar for the flag in 2fort being
broken (flag is on bridge but arrow points to the base, saying it is
'home'). Not sure if its a server-side plugin bug, or just a server-side
bug.
