i am running 3.1.1.0 with cstrike, hlguard, adminmod and statsme. AFAIK
3.1.1.0 doesnt have these anti 'dos' settings.
The server has a 100 mbit internet connection to the internet and is
ofcourse colocated.

Last week i installed another server, running redhat 9.0 with a SMP kernel.
the hardware is a P4 2.4 gigahertz with a 800 mhz FBUS and hyperthreading.
To take advantage of this, linux simulates 2 processors. My problem is this
runs-pauses-runs-pauses thing because i can play on the server, however
I figured I should share some of this with you, since it's downright
amazing:
I recently upgraded the OS on one of our CS servers from FreeBSD
5.0-RELEASE to 5.1-RELEASE to take advantage of the new SMP features,
and the new scheduler. The server is a Dell Poweredge 1600 series with
dual 2.8 Xeo
CAL - Jerry I beleive has it posted in the forums and the plans were to
release prior to this upcoming preseason which begins August 15th. Check the

Yes, there was Gentoo ebuilds before for HLDS CS etc, but as I said they
where pretty useless.
That's why I was interested in experiences by anyone that has tried
these new ones :)
