Add -debug to your command line, it seems like the server is not connected to

You need to edit steam/cstrike/server.cfg
Set hostname, rcon, sv_password, in the server.cfg
Rcon is remote control, so that you can changelevel, kick, ban, change server
settings. Etc. remote..
Set this in server.cfg
Hostname "ur server name"
Rcon_password password
Sv_password password

Ok now i have my server running. I get a few errors when i start it listed below
Erros: (i think)
"scandir failed:/home/hldserver/hlds/hlds/./platform/SAVE"
Whats that?
"counldn't exec language.cfg"
YAY its working, finally.
i couldnt find the conf.apf file but ran the lokkit thing through terminal
and set up those three ports and it seem to be running fine. i also
unchecked the http, ftp and other stuff that im not currently using. Should
i un DMZ the router n just tell it to send the ports
You need to decide which ports you want to leave open. e.g., ssh, ftp,
http, whatever... DMZ leaves your system completely open, so you should
try to only open those ports you need. HLDS needs UDP and 27015 and
27020 open, assuming you're going to run the game on 27015.

Hello Gentlemen and ladies I am new to this mailing group. I am also new to
Half Life Dedicated Servers but not to half-life as a client. I am
relatively new to Linux. I have spent 100+ hours on this problem and cannot
seem to find a fix; you guys are my last resort before I throw in the towel.
I have a hl2dm server running on a windows box that still has that name bug.
It is not totally fixed yet Alfred.

Hi Andreas,
I run 4 servers on 1 AMD 3000+ with 1024 MB RAM.
2 x CS 1.6 - 18 players public servers
2 x CS: S - 18 players public servers
Works like a charm, AMD 64 is the best for hosting games!

break even is around 8-10 slots with HLG. Used it on a DoD
server a while ago and it begann to lag having more than
8 players on the server :(

I am running a 10 slot server on a p-4 1.4 w/384 megs ram using
hlguard with all options on, adminmod, and steambans. I run all
custom maps and cpu usage averages 45%

Disable Statsme and use AMXMOD-integrated stats. Using HLGuard with all options
activated will kill "every" server ;)
Most important: are using 64-bit-binaries? I'm running another 64bit machine
but only with a 32bit linux and cpu usage
is real high...

I'm currently running 3 x 14 slots on an AMD64 2800+ with 768MB RAM.
Each of them giving max 20% cpu usage using AMXX 1.01 as plugin
and running fun maps!
