I dont think it has to do with the color of the grease. What I do is sort of an oil change. I put a liberal amount of valve oil in there and there is always excess. Sort of like when you get the oil changed on your car, they always drain it before putting new oil in. Putting an excess helps to c

Actually, no less than the late Dick Merewether from Paxman told me that he always preferred to pack fixed bell horns and the cases separately! (This was in the days before readily available bubble wrap!). He always maintained that fixed bell horns were desperately vulnerable to damage in transit.
