Just to let folks know the outcome of my problem of a couple of weeks ago
wherein I could not snapshot on z/OS a VM/Linux volume, I used CPFMTXA to
format 0,0 as Richard mentioned and now everything seems to work. At any rate,
I can snap it and back it up.
Thanks,
Jon

Why not send the print job directly to the RSCS LPD da
Thanks to all that answered.
We found the problem after much talking. Seems that the cleaning
company blew two or three circuits last night. Most were on servers and
the users were use to the systems not being available.
Reset everything, turned the power switch off (all the way this time).

If it is continuously/immediately powering
back off, you likely have a defective power supply (it’s doing what it’s
supposed to do to protect the rest of the hardware) or a broken switch. If it’s
mechanical failure of the switch, you could bridge around it, but that’s
kinda ugly
I know that on equipment that has or, at least, had an emergency power off
switch--the big round red one, it had to be reset by a CE id it was hit.

Hello Everyone,
Ok this is hardware cross post to anyone that remembers the 7171.
Our 7171 has one interface left. And maybe after today, it will be gone.
Is there a reset switch inside the 7171 that if you pop breaker that will

Checking the consoles as you suggested shows that is x'00'.

Les,
We have an outside company on a secure external stack (TCPDMZEV) send an
LP print command to our LPD Daemon (TCPLPDEV) which then routes the file
to our RSCS server (RSCS1) which, Alan, then uses an LPR LINKDEFINE to
print the text file.
