YES. But I get an outage once a quarter. Usually.
I threw that in off-the-cuff, but the responses were very revealing.

Hello Everyone,
John Jablonski and I have been talking about his problem (see
below).
804-806 are defined with a NICDEF in the z/VM directory. So I suspect
that this is a VSWITCH(?).
Some of the devices were offline and we have them back on line.
John would like some help and

Two problems with this solution.
I need to get the XMIT file down to a PC.
I don't have ISPF on this IFL.

How about using VMARC to collect the files into a single transportable
file and then on the PC you can use VMA from Leland Lucius
VMA can be found at http://homerow.net/zvm/vma.htm

Inactivity is not a likely problem - we are driving well over 10K
messages per second through the VSWITCH when the problem occurs. The
symptom we see is that TPF is dropping sockets due to excessive
retransmits. My first thought was that the DTCVSW machines might be a
choke-point. I have, I
When did TPF start supporting VSWITCH attachment? I must have missed
that because the first thing I thought about when vswitch came out was
using vswitch to do comms unit test, as the apps boys were moving a lot
of things from lu 6.2 to sockets. Apparently what VM emulated and what
TPF expected
Greetings Listers,
Can someone out there post or forward me a copy of measly wakeup exec to read
incoming RDR files and file them in CMS file.
Greatly appreciated

TPF is in its own LPARs supporting its own IP stacks. The 24 CMS users
are using the VSWITCH. That said, the bulk of our testing has TPF
virtual machines connected via VSWITCH; however, TPF is VSWITCH unaware,
so far as it knows, it has an OSA.
