Mike, is init CAPS a typo/some email malfunction?
The CSS value is the target CSS and the RCSS value is the reference

are to be copied

Hi Greg,
Ooops, yes - CAPS is a typo in this email (not in the actual command),
should be TEST. :)
I tried the CP MODIFY with the parms you suggested, but I'm still getting

Is there a way to make Unrestricted Access the norm for SELECT * commands
on DB2 running on VM? Right now one of our customers adds 'WITH UR' to
their SELECT queries because if they don't add 'WITH UR' the database can

I think you are referring to the isolation level that the query runs

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the response.
I did mean Uncommitted Read. Sorry about that. I was just
getting some security work I was doing mixed up with my question. The
customers are running their queries from QMF. I am aware of the global

Tony,
I am afraid I don't have any experience with QMF. But there are some
pretty sharp folks on
this list who probably do. One other thought is even though this is
VM DB2, you might want
to post to the VSE list as well. There are a couple of folks there
who know DB2 and don't

Hello-
Can I mix ipv4 ipv6 addresses on the same OSA port.
Currently defined as type non-QDIO OSE, configured via OSA/SF.
If not what are my options?
Add another port?
Redefine as QDIO?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Mike,
what CSS is Test in? Maybe I got my 1's and 0's backwards... would
you paste, from the IOCP the RESOURCE PARTITION statement, CHPID 80
and the CNTLUNIT statement for CU 4000?
My read earlier was that CHPID 80 is currently defined in CSS 1 and I
assumed TEST was in CSS 0.

Hi Greg,
TEST is in CSS 1. The DASD on CHPID 80 that I'm trying to give TEST access

Would VM/ESA running 2nd level under z/VM be able to use the VSWITCH?
Thanks,

VM/ESA 2.4 had QDIO support (in fact it was the last release to have that
module delivered with source). 2.3 might have had it, but I can't remember.
I suspect it would work, but can't try it (no longer have a IPLable 2.4 system).
