This is what we do as well, plus we use VM:Schedule to run it automagically.

Hello Jon L.
We use the EREP machine itself. Logon the disconnect EREP system, issue
the #cp EXT to stop.
Run the exec's to generate the reports into the proper RDR queue.
Email the reports to IBM/OPTS manager/lead Operator via another exec.

That's works just dandy.
Thanks much,

Good morning all.. I am a little rusty still. I am trying to IPL a second
level z/VM and get the disabled wait console error.
If I could find the install guide (either paper or on the web) I know it has
the instructions for setting up the console for 2nd level z/VM. If anyone
has a link to that

The console needs to be 3270 mode, not 3215, and needs to be listed as a
console in the SYSTEM CONFIG file. If not in the config file, you can overcome
that by specifying the address in the SALIPL screen.

Here's a snippet of code I use..

Pull any

Would it be too bold to ask where you started working.
Just curious.

Folks,
There will be a Linux on Z and z/VM track at Ohio Linuxfest on September 10-12,
2010 in Columbus, Ohio. The track will include FREE intros to z/VM and Linux on
Z, open source tools for z/VM and Linux on Z, and many other large-system
related topics. Many of the fine people on this list
I noticed this morning that there seems to be a major discrepancy between the
number of blocks allocated in the responses to Q VDISK and Q VDISK SYSLIM. The
total of the number of blocks in the former is about 30% of the number being
reported as in use in the latter. What gives? Is the number

Hello,
A new z/VM Red Alert has been posted at:
http://www.vm.ibm.com/service/redalert/
August 4, 2010
With this APAR and its associated requisites (listed in the document),
TCP/IP for z/VM provides significant performance and scalability
enhancements for the CMS-based SSL server, introduced
We build and activate our IODF using z/OS HCD. z/VM 5.3 and 5.4 recognize the
change.
In our z/OS IODF, we have addresses 1B00-1B0F as 3278-2 devices. However,
according to z/VM 5.4, addresses 1B00-1B0F are DASD devices.
Last weekend, we did a POR (Power On Reset).
Is there something in z/VM
No.
Is there sometihing in your SYSTEM CONFIG file that suggests they are?

This is the only thing in the SYSTEM CONFIG file that says anything about
devices:
/**/
/*Status of Devices */
If you didn't go down, then delete the rdev (delete rdev command) and then do
the define rdev and 'set rdev type 3270_display
although, if you did a POR and shutdown VM, given what you have in system
config, all should be fine.
Is there anywhere else, autolog2 maybe?, where you did set set rdev
The command 'DELETE RDEV 1B00-1B0F' did not work.
I did a 'VARY OFF SUB 1B00-1B0F'. That command worked.
Then I did a 'SET RDEV 1B00-1B0F TYPE 3278'. That command worked.
Then I did a 'VARY ON SUB 1B00-1B0F' and it worked.
Then I did a 'VARY ON 1B00' and got the following message:
HCPCPN6283I
Actually, it is the sum of all blocks specified in DEFINEs that have been
allowed that cannot exceed SYSLIM. USERLIM is not part of that equation. It
merely limits a single user's allocation. As a rule, most of our users do not
grab anywhere near the USERLIM.
