I have ordered the 2 APAR's, VM64879 and VM64881, and the prereq's for the z196 support for z/VM 5.4 But I noticed that my RSU level is only 0802 for both CP and CMS. What is the latest RSU level and should I just order and apply the latest RSU instead of trying to apply these APARs to this

Is it permissible to simply FTP from a desktop with mput CKD* the CPDVD contents to the IIS machine instead of driving FTP from the IIS machine with the INSTPIPE module and the CMS pipe command? Is pipe doing anything else under covers when it loads the minidisk?

I have just installed z/VM 61 level 2 on a 2094 which I believe is a z9. It is not surpiseing that when I try to ipl I get a wait state code of 9030 because it does not like the architecture level. I don't suppose there is any way of virtualizing aournd this.
