I'd faced a similar problem with an intel motherboard, don't remember but it was one of the latest ones. What probably is happening, it is hanging while detecting the sound card, just disable the sound card in BIOS and check again. If it works then probably you'll need to install latest ALSA. S

Hi, I'm having a FreeBSD server and Ubuntu Linux clients. The server stores home directories of all users. These home directories are exported via NFS. When any users logs in to the Ubuntu Linux clients, his home directory gets automounted from the server. Now, the problem is that when any user w
