Hi, I moving into the bay area (around San Francisco). Can someone point me to Java User activities in this area? I have found the a Java User Group in San Franciso: http://www.sfjava.org/ I believe the Java Posse was once trying to setup a Scala User Group. Does this still exists? Cheers, Lar

Given the circular 'we at a dead-lock' type posts I see on the modularity EG list (well, the observer list anyway) I get the feeling that it'll be a LONG time since we see modularity in the JDK. And if we do happen to see it for Java 7 - there's likely to be a lot of disgruntled/frustrated people

I like the WebObjects set of frameworks. It is not a "new kid on the block" and has been around for a long time. It covers the whole technology spectrum from database persistence thru to presentation. It is used by Apple as the foundation technology for the iTunes Music store. Those pages you see

Admittedly, I have not gone looking for too many GWT widgets so far, but doing a cursory search revealed a number of seemingly good sources. When I did find myself needing reusable components across my own projects, either for integration with other GWT pages, or for injecting into HTML/JSP, it
