About two months ago, I was upgraded to Microsoft 2013. Now I notice my
Search feature no longer responds. I am not sure how to really figure this

I go to the file in My Documents , etc. and locate the file I want then

That happens to me on occasion while using my office laptop. When that
occurs, for some reason, JAWS has stopped or turned off. Often, I just do a
Windows, M and press J and JAWS. Starts talking. Try that first.

I am certain turning off the computer using the hard boot can cause
damage over time. At it used to happen that way. I think the better way is
to find a solution. Have you tried calling Freedom Scientific or the
Microsoft Help Line?
