Hi Mike,
I don't think you're doing anything wrong, just doing it differently than
other people do, that's all.
Who knows, maybe Joanne will decide to use your method, and find that she is
better off with it, or just the opposite, use your method and reinforce what
she was using before because
folder till I get to the one I want.
I don't know what it looks like, but,

Hello,
When you first go into the explorer window, as long as the top item
says, "not selected", you can use the file menu with the first choice

Hi Joanne,
Let's not get too hasty. Smile.
You don't have to stop doing it that way, you just have to be a bit more
patient with your keystrokes. LOL.
One of my biggest mistakes when I first went blind, was thinking that I
could keep doing things as fast as I did when I was sighted. Granted

appeared that the person wanted to make simple e mail folders in Outlook
Express. Nothing fancy, just storage. marilyn

You have to be careful about this, as I have recently discovered.
You can do that method of pressing alt+F then the letter W for New, however,
if a file is highlighted, you may land on another choice for the letter W.
For example, if you have an MP3 file highlighted, and you use that
combinatio
der. Has this key command changed with Jaws 8?

I have a question about this. My instructor had told me a few years back
that the shortcut key for creating a new folder is alt and F pressed
together, then the letter W by itself, then the letter F by itself. T
