I just wanted to clear things up, some of the drawbacks listed in the Spring
to Pico comparison are out dated and there for incorrect.

The repository is actually controlled by which plugin is set for the registry service.
Look for this property in jetspeed.properties:
services.PortletRegistry.persistence.plugin.name
You can change this to any persistence plugin you have defined within the
WEB-INF/conf/persistence-pl

Jakarta. However, IBM did use it as a base for the

Follow a loose coupling model. Try and keep as much of your business logic out of the
components that are tightly bound to Jetspeed 1.

I have already converted my personal jetspeed security implementation from Torque to
OJB. I plan on donating that along with an event driven security pipeline for 1.5. I
could also look at porting the DBPSML to OJB also. I think BLOBS+Oracle+OJB are
working, at least according to the OJB list

Check the tomcat logs, are there any errors there. Just because an application is
deployed does not mean that the servlets with in it will be available, especially if
there was an error thrown during servlet initialization.

I spent last night altering J2 to be compatible with the current Pluto codebase (the
one in the CVS). All unit tests passed for me, however, I have not yet had a chance
to deploy and run it. Please let me know if you have any issues building J2 with
Pluto.
