Hi Beth et al,
With reference to those who, after several terms (years?) of classes in
Lace-Making cannot start or finish their lace, I was told that my approach
to teaching Bobbin Lace-Making was entirely wrong, in that I did actually
teach people to start their lace, and to complete it.
Hello Francis and everyone
This is an artistic type of lace devised and named from the originating
lacemaker, Lucienne Tack since 1987. Chiefly, she wanted to show relief

As she was winning prizes with the lace in 1990 and 1993, it is obviously a
new lace.

In my particular teacher's case I've always thought it was just down to being

maybe she's being craftier than we realised...

Now the group is 8 years old and I still have the same ladies.
Am I right or wrong???
Just a quick note about my laceday here in Norwich on the 18th of April.

Dear Beth
I thoroughly agree with you. Anyone learning lace must be taught how to start
and finish, they are essential parts of the process of making lace. I usually
get my students to think about starting and what to look for when they
approach a new piece, and make sure they are well aware that

I managed to find a course of 8 lessons somewhere nearby, and joined the group
