Hi, I believe that mace is also sometimes used in sweet dishes. My Good Housekeeping Cookery Book calls for mace in the Christmas cake that I have made for twenty five years. I don't know how common it is to find mace in this sort of recipe, but it seems to work for me. Regards, Carolyn Caroly
