I'm running several LEAF releases, and perhaps m0n0wall, on a CF card
in a WRAP box, using grub to select among them. Currently I have to
remove the card from the box

I understand your concerns, but I still think that if you remove packages,
reboot, change things and save the new configuration, old stale config
files from packages that don't exist anymore should be removed. And of
course the technical implications of having two different backup
method

I installed the netkit telnet pacakge (30 some K)
which requires (but does not list that it requires)

I have been trying to create a bootable cd for this version without success. I
downloaded the file Bering-uClibc_3.0-beta3_iso_bering-uclibc-iso.bin form the
net and created a cd from the image but in this version I cannot get my machine
to boot from the cd.
