Neither. He is using MPD. This is based on FreeBSD 4.9. PoPTop wasn't
an option because it doesn't run in userland and he wants to make it as
secure as possible.

You may want to check out m0n0wall.
http://m0n0.ch/wall
It has PPTP server built in and boots from a CD-ROM while the
configuration is saved to a floppy. There are some known problems with
some XP clients.

You have to replaced the pppd package with one listed here:
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/jnilo/bering/latest/packages/pppd/
Look at the README for a better explanation.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with Bering, PopTop (pptpd.lrp) or

The solution was posted on their website. Apparently by default it uses
dynamic UDP and TCP but there is a static port patch for v2.2 located

Then you need to open up these ports:

I tried to use a package made by K.-P. Kirchdörfer based on your
original package and I haven't had any luck on the client or the server
end. The default configs weren't configured for Bering or even LEAF but
after making some adjustments I didn't have any luck with it.

I'm running Bering-uClibc 1.1 and having some minor problems. First of
all, I do have a request. Does anyone have a packaged udhcp.lrp for
this distribution? I'm only aware of Lynn Avants' for LEAF in general

Has anyone done something like Tagged Message Delivery Agent (TMDA) for
Dachstein or Bering? Site is http://tmda.net. Seems like a small

That did the trick, Tom. Thanks for the quick reply! Now I'm certain
the socks5.lrp problem is related to that and very similar to resolve.

No that's not what I'm trying to say. Here's the FAQ from dyndns.org:

I tried getting the image working but for the life of me can't get
