Well, I've given up trying to use the publishing centre, and now do
everything through rtfs, where one can edit everything to one's

That's why getting the macros to run for the pictures - reported
extensively elsewhere - was so important. I also like to remove the

Yes. Siblings are connected by way of the

Updated my website late last night and thought I had included pictures - but none show up on line? Is there a way to include SELECTED pictures 9perhaps the default picture for each person) in the webpages result? Am I missing a setting?
Thanks--

Nice font, Alastair, thanks for pointing it, and that site, out to us! I
hadn't been able to find that one free before. It's nice that it has the
diaeresis marks for vowels. Did you know Caslon was the font used for the
Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? I found that here:

You do not say from where you are creating the webpages. If it is from
Internet>Create Web Pages
then you need to go to the "What" tab and in the Events box check include
pictures. Also under the "Other" tab in the Picture/Sounds box check include
pictures and whatever else is approriate.

Thanks, but that wasn't it. The reference was for a little program
which split into two screens, one for the image and the other for
typing in the transcript. Easier than loading an image viewer and a
wordprocessor, and reducing each to half-screen size.

To ensure that s specific person in a
file is number 1, create a new file and add that person. Just a name is all you
need, then number 1 is taken. Import your data to that file, merge number 1 with
whatever number that one happens to be on the import, and he is then number
1.

Have just had a look at this little programme. It's well worth a look for
anyone who needs to transcribe documents manually. The scanned document can
be viewed at the top with room to transcribe into a word processor at the
bottom. One could then copy the transcribed document and add it as the

I have just read a number of threads in the archives about a married name for
the wife.
When this is added to the Marriage Information screen, perhaps there should
also be a married name field for the husband as well as the wife. Some husbands
take a hyphenated surname when they marry.

Hi Jean,
You don't need to go through a Gedcom unless you are wanting to leave
out Research notes or some other field - you can export direct to a
Legacy file.
Every family in Legacy has a preferred child whether they are part of
the Direct line set or not, whether you've chosen one to be th
That seems rather complicated Carl. Why not just give the current no. 1 an
unused RIN and then change the RIN of the one you wish to No. 1? I am not
sure that this is what the OP was asking for though as I didn't fully grasp
the original question.

Not only do some take a hyphenated surname, there are those few who give up
their surname and take just their wife's surname. I should know - one of my

Hi
Does anyone know of a quick way to transfer the
pictures attached to the event sources to the event instead? I have attached
all of my census images to the source instead of the event itself and know need
to have them attached to the event so I can send a gedcom file to someone
else.
Add all appropriate nammes to the AKA screen. It is
not gender based.

Dear LUGgies,
First, my apologies that this is not a Legacy-type question. Again, my sincere apologies for breaking etiquette, but I'm at my wits end. Hope some of you can give me some ideas.
