Adobe Photoshop Elements comes combined with an 'organizer' that might be
just what you are looking for. Version 6 was just recently released, hence
you might be able to find an older version for sale online (eBay, Craigslist
etc,) at a reduced price (v4-5 will do you just fine :-)).

You bring up a very good point about Legacy's photo album limitations.
Unlike some others who have responded recently to photo questions, I fully

As far as which one, I'd say take your pick. For closer family I choose
2 or 3 of my favs and change the preferred one to show when I get
bored. I used to link in alot of pictures but found them really slow to
scroll through and really, the main question there is what do you plan
to use them

Not that I am aware of. You will have to go to their site to see if they have a free version that

Susan,
Congratulations on your book and on the very detailed instructions which you
have given, which I am sure many will find very useful, and I hope your
relatives enjoy it.
As an addendum, may I say that for those who do not have, nor wish to afford MS

I'm only guessing - I could not get a hit on error 76 in the help files:
Is your program, family tree file, your photos and such all in the same

Ok Thanks for the information I will check to see if there is a computer at
the FHC that runs windows XP if not I certainly will consider buying the
other version.
Thanks Charlotte

Hello. I'm new to the group but saw this thread and wanted to add my two
cents' worth. I submitted the suggestion of running a lite version of
Legacy on a flash drive to Legacy Technical Support in October. They
responded that this was on their project enhancement list. It would be great
to have

Cathy,
Difficult to understand that, as I thought it was yourself who requested the

Hi Lester
Unfortunately, the Geo location database for new Zealand is something that
Legacy doesn't do very comprehensively. There are no provinces in the
database, just cities and country. Christchurch is there, but don't try and
match it with Canterbury, just settle for New Zealand.

Excellent information about putting all the elements together for a

I realize this is a matter of choice, but I would be interested in hearing
your thoughts on which photos you choose to link to Legacy. Obviously, if I

Many thanks Jim. That worked a treat. This new computer is a dual core, so
Legacy is loaded onto the d drive and in the Options it was showing as c
drive.
Thanks again
