I thoroughly endorse these comments. It seems to me we have some listers that prefer to ask the easy way - contact this group - whereas some of us only do it after we've exhausted looking through the archives, clicking on Help in Legacy, and Googling. All these options would reduce such questions.

It probably will, but they have to be uncompressed tiff's. If you open a tiff in a graphics program and go to re-save it, it will first bring you to a box of compression options. If it's set at LZW (probably) you have to switch it to None and continue through Saving. Then try linking it to

I agree with the question about linking a pdf to Legacy. But I don't agree when it goes farther than that. If they want to learn about pdf's or Adobe then do that elsewhere. My opinion is that if it isn't directly about Legacy (or its add-on programs) then take it offline or to another list.

There is a so-simple solution to all this. If some-one writes an inappropriate-to-the-LUG question, they should be answered off-list by as many people as want to answer it. This could include a statement that it's inappropriate, a list of reasons why and a list of appropriate alternatives.

IMHO, the mention of templates for sources would indicate an output of a certain format. This raises certain questions: 1). Will users be required to use the new templates? I believe this has been answered as No. Users may either use the new templates or continue to do as they do now. 2).
