helpful.

Are you trying to drag in such a way that a blank frame would be left in the
middle of the pictures? If so, Legacy 7 doesn't seem to allow this, although I
am pretty sure that Legacy 6 did by moving the others to fill the gap that
otherwise would be created. Legacy 7 does allow dragging

In my gedcoms created in Legacy and using 5.5, they don't include the ABBR tag.
Are you creating a gedcom for Legacy rather than the 5.5, and then removing the
ABBR tags before importing into TNG?

Gail, thanks for asking this and Jennifer, for answering. I had
noticed this, but I haven't had very much time to work on TNG lately.
Hope to get back to it soon. Jennifer, I tried to remove something

Mary,
I just looked at my most recent gedcom from Legacy, and I export in
5.5, and I am getting ABBR tags for the short titles on the sources
and shortened place names.

It is in Customise on the Gedcom Export screen (I choose Legacy as the Type

at the top where it says Export these items, highlight the ones you want to

Thanks, Jennifer. That's very helpful. Now if I'd been paying more
attention, I might have found those myself.

Gail,
Are you using the latest version of Legacy? I notice you are still getting the
odd 1860 U.S. census, \i 2004\i0. Have a look in your source in Legacy to see
if it is there. That happened to me when Legacy 7 was first released, but after
updating to the last release I can't duplicate it.
One other thing: when you have decided on your list of changes, you can
Save List. I have done this and call the list TNGgedcom so I don't have
to try to remember what I need to change every time - I just hit Load
List.

Hi Jennifer and Patti, I'm so glad you guys are chiming in on this
issue! OK, I removed the ABBR tag (I had already removed the others
you had mentioned), and re-exported the new gedcom file.
Take a look at the source output for Eva G. Baker at

Well, now there's a thing. I have never come across this either. Maybe there

Dave,
I have experienced both these problems regarding not being able to rearrange

answer. After reading Ron's post, I found that I COULD rearrange
I think we have to distinguish between a marriage and a wedding as they are not
the same thing.
There can only be one Legal marriage ceremony (that which the State recognizes
as granting the legal benefits of marriage) but there can be an infinite number
of wedding ceremonies.
