Claire,
Try using intellimerge. If the duplicate person has the same UID (unique ID)
that will tell you if they are exact clones.

I am having a problem when I have two databases open at the same time.
SOMETIMES when I enter a person into one of the databases, that person
is also entered (automatically) into the other open database. As I
said, this only happens
