Let me follow up with another question. Does this mean that double
brackets can be put around other things that I do not want to print in
reports (for example, information in NOTES)?

Barbara, Yes, they are called Privacy brackets (probably more detail
if you search in Help for them). Lots of us use them in all sorts of
ways. I put much of my research data into brackets, and when I want to
see that stuff, there is a checkbox on reports that says Print
[[Private]] and Print

I think Gene suggested you could delete the brackets afterwards

This is EXACTLY what I needed--I just tried the double brackets, on

I haven't been keeping up with the list as I've been busy with other
things the last few days. It sounds as if you're having troubles when
your brother is in the last generation of the report and that it
doesn't have anything to do with how many generations are chosen.

Barbara,
Try adding a fake child to your brother and his fourth wife. Now run
a report where he is the last generation. Does the fourth marriage
show up?

Hi Judy,
That may be it. :-)
I was about to ask a clarifying question whether Barbara meant the
marriage was missing from the Child Lists rather than the main entry.
I don't include marriages in the Child Lists and have Main Entries
for everyone as I prefer to keep the generational entries

Did as suggested--put a fake child in for brother and fourth wife. Ran
descendant book report with him as last generation. Fourth marriage
still does not show up, even though they now have a child.

I guess this reminds me that there is an entire area I don't
understand, and that is the meaning of main entry and child list.
Would Cathy's method keep the same information from showing up twice
in my reports? (As an example, when my report lists me and my siblings

because none of us was able to give you an answer. This list would be

Barbara,
Can you select just your brother and run a descendants report (3
generations) starting with him, and see what marriages are listed? Try
all three: Descendants Report; Descendants Book Report; and
Descendants Narrative (Book) Report.
Also, in Spouse view for your brother, do you see all
Paragraph 1: all marriages are listed, in all three reports.
Paragraph 2: yes, all four spouses are listed in the correct order; no
errors in date entry.
Paragraph 3: double-checked, and no.

Okay, so the marriages can be listed in a descendants report, at

Now try selecting your brother's father, and doing the same three
reports, again, with 3 or 4 generations selected. Do all four
marriages appear?

I will be glad to try these things (tomorrow). I've just been playing

P.S.: Even though I was unable to help you solve your issue, I'm glad
