Dear People,
Is there a way to link a file (doc., pdf, etc) to field in Legacy?
For example, I have a number of funeral notices in pdf format and I'd like
to hyperlink them to the specific individuals. I would create a folder on my
hard drive most likely within the Legacy directory, containing the

I am also having this problem. I save items from old newspapers online by
using the print screen button then open and edit in Irfanview.
I have tried to copy and paste them into 'notes' for each person but it
doesn't work.
I guess there is a better way, hopefully someone out there will know.

Legacy doesn't do what you're asking. Images have to be linked into
picture galleries. You can only copy and paste text into Notes fields.
Such things as funeral notices you might want to copy and paste the text
from the pdf into the Death or Burial notes field. Newspapers as image

Hi George,
If you attach them as Sound files (in Legacy 7 there is another
"gallery" in which to attach docs and pdfs) then you can double click
on them in the gallery and they will open. They are not included in
any reports. This isn't changing in Legacy 7 as far as I know.

Some of the funeral notices and others are 4-page pdfs and contain both text

I would like these docs to reside in their own folder. That way, I can

I agree that Legacy should handle other document formats better than

For pictures? I'm not all that concerned. I keep copies of everything,

You don't mention where you download your census images from, so this

When you pull up the image, there's an option to download it. Select view
