You can only search for text in a pdf if the content is, in fact, text. Just because something is in pdf doesn't mean it's searchable. It could an image of text which is not searchable. Everything's either text of some kind or an image of some kind. If it's text you can copy and paste it

My thinking is this; I'm scanning a ton of paper documents into digital form, pdf's. Some of the funeral notices and others are 4-page pdfs and contain both text and graphics. I would like these docs to reside in their own folder. That way, I can access them without necessarily going into Legacy.

I am also having this problem. I save items from old newspapers online by using the print screen button then open and edit in Irfanview. I have tried to copy and paste them into 'notes' for each person but it doesn't work. I guess there is a better way, hopefully someone out there will know.

Legacy doesn't do what you're asking. Images have to be linked into picture galleries. You can only copy and paste text into Notes fields. Such things as funeral notices you might want to copy and paste the text from the pdf into the Death or Burial notes field. Newspapers as image can be
