I need some of your thoughts on how to cite sources.
The source is a familysearch.org index for Schifferstadt, Pfalz, Bavaria births
and baptisms for at least 20 people in the same family. Each name has a
different address where the information can be found. How do I cite the source

I now get the picture of how the system is intended to be used. I have
to say that although I have frequently come across Bishop's transcripts,
I have never come across an Archdeacon's Transcript!

Dear Michele,
Many thanks for this. What you describe is what I've been doing up to

Joan,
You do not have to create a marriage event. There are two ways to link a

Hi Joan. Others have already mentioned about the difference between the

The source record is a master record that will be exactly the same for

Thanks,
Joan,
You can't create a template for your sources, per se. What you have to do is
create a Master Source (such as the name of a book, or the state/country that
issued the birth certificate) and then add Source Details (such as the page
number of the book, or the birth certificate number). Mo
Thanks, Mike. I realise that a master source isn't a template - I'd
just like to create a template so that I can be consistent & save time
filling in details. I've actually now filled in all my birth
certificates - generically as a master source called 'Birth Certificate'
under Event 'Birth', but

Many thanks for this, but two points;
How do I create a template? The only way I seem to be able to do this
is to name a master source then copy & paste the template details from a
saved Notepad file. This is pretty clumsy!
1. New master source: Birth certificate
2. Copy from Notepad:

I'm a bit confused by your question, but I hope one of these answers will be
responsive:
(1) An unspecified "event" (not source) is built in to Legacy for every
person. As far as I know, you can't change it. What you can do, however, is
ignore it.

Hi!
How can you change the name of a source from 'Unspecified'?
I have set up a new master source as a template for the information
contained on a standard birth certificate.
I have called it 'Birth certificate template' but it would be nice

Thanks Mike for the following

christenings which can point to a father-son relationship, but the link between
