Here's a full explanation of the folders Legacy uses.
I understand that those using Parallels do better when everything is on
the Windows side of the Mac.
Legacy from version 8 on should be installed in the Program Files
folders - the default installation.

Yes, very easy. You can use Options and settings 6.1 and 6.2 to specify

Legacy will always recreate the Legacy Folder unless you move the
location of your Documents folder using Windows. It needs to have the
_Appdata folder in your Documents\Legacy Family Tree folder so if you
move the Legacy Family Tree folder outside your Documents Legacy will
recreate it next
Thank you. That was a clear explanation. I wonder if I can install (or
relocate) the Legacy folder in Documents to elsewhere. Not a big deal
either way.

In a normal windows based computer the Legacy Family Tree folder is
located in the user's Documents folder. It looks like your Parallels is
using the Mac side for the user's Windows documents folder so that is
where Legacy created your Legacy Family Tree folder to hold all the user
related
there is always the risk of
corrupting them.

OK, help me out. I'm trying to streamline my files. Legacy seems to have
files everywhere.
Is there a map showing where Legacy's files are stored?
I am running Legacy on a Mac using Parallels, so some of my confusion may
relate to the emulator.
I find them here:

Gary,
I have my hard drive partitioned into a C and a D drive. I keep programs

I have moved my Documents folder, etc from C to D. You need to do this

So my Legacy settings are at
D:\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\

You can store your Legacy data file and associated media files anywhere you
like. They don't have to stay in the default location.
I keep mine in a Dropbox folder.
Note that if you delete the default folders, they may be recreated when
Legacy needs to use them, and you may lose some settings
