Hi All,
I'm reading about implementing zFCP for Linux under VM and i see that
multipathing is handled in Linux itself.
As z/VM is aware of multipathing on the EDEVICE level, why we can't use
this and then just attach already "multipathed" disk to Linux?

Hi Bernard.
I think, you have to run just one proxy server depends on your arch. If it
64 bit, you should run /lib64/CA_esm_proxy, if 31 - /lib/CA_esm_proxy.
Anyway, 2 programs can't use the same port, so if you run both versions,

Hi.
Is it possible to create swapfile over 2G on 64bit system?. I think yes,
but i've got the following "answer":
ls -la
-rw-r--r--1 root root 4294967296 Sep 17 12:51 swap3
mkswap /share/share/swap3
mkswap: error: swap area needs to be at least 40kB
Usage: mkswap [-c] [-v0|-v1] [-pP
Your linux is 32bit, but SAP required 64bit (s390x).

Hi
1. I think, you did 'make modules'
2. I think, you did 'make modules_install'
3. Copy the new kernel to /boot
cd
cp arch/s390/boot/image /boot/kernel-x.x.x
or (for s390x-64bit)
cp arch/s390x/boot/image /boot/kernel-x.x.x ( e.g. kernel-2.4.21-3)
4. Copy System.map to /boot
cd
cp System

Can i use this kernel with old s390-tools (0.5-57)?

I'm trying to compile 2.4.21 (with IBM patches) on SLES7-beta (64bit). At
the end, i got this error:
ld -m elf64_s390 -T /usr/src/linux-2.4.21/arch/s390x/vmlinux.lds -e start
arch/s390x/kernel/head.o arch/s390x/kernel/init_task.o init/main.o
init/version.o init/do_mounts.o \
--start-group
install compat.rpm from CD1 and try again.

Update your samba.

Try 'mount -o nfsvers=2 '

There is a problem with installation, not with dasd. The only thing that
is working in my case is install via ssh and smb. If i choose VNC or X
yast lost the source and got me that error.

linux07:/home # zipl --help
-d or --dumpto
specifies the device node of the partition on which
the _dump_
will be created.
Example: /dev/dasdb1 or /devfs/dasd/0192/part1
To do "a second bootable dasd" You have to do the next steps:
1. Edit the new zipl.conf (/appl/

If I want to state dasd 0202 ro how would I do that?

FRIT - Infras
You should define r/o mode. In zipl.conf dasd=0202(ro), the same on VM if your linux
under VM.
