Another issue I vaguely remember is the FTP home directory. If the home directory when you ftp is something like /home/ftp/ and your install directory is something like /sles/iso/, then the install files will be looked for in /home/ftp/sles/iso/ where they may not be found. Hope this helps. -

You might need more than 256MB of memory. Installation does work with 512MB. The reason for the large memory requirement during installation is the install process creates a ram disk for the starter system. The ram disk is ipl'ed and then you use yast to do the installation/configuration to dasd.
