Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong or what to check?
It says it's getting the kernel and it's named properly. But then it
repeatedly sleeps..
I'm using the LTSP 3.0 from the CD I purchased form the LTSP site. DHCP

Arif,
Unfortunately, if you are getting the message about
an incorrect video mode, that's an indication that
your video card isn't supported by the LPP code.

Stephen,
Runlevel 3 is generally used for diagnostic purposes.
It gives you a root shell on the workstation, which
probably is not what you want.
What you really need is Runlevel 5, but then you need
to launch the ICA program on the server.
I haven't used the ICA program, so I can't comment on

Since some time I'm using aumix/xaumix to control sound on a

These tools are ncurses/gtk+ based and provide a nice gui.
All available properties of the card are under control with

To my knowledge nobody has actually created a Distro that is "just" a web

IE taken the trouble to cut away everything but the Kernel, networking, X
windows & [whichever flavour] browser and made it into an ISO ready to go.
Please, somebody, tell me otherwise.
Surely I can't be the only

Hello,
I have some old x486 with no pci slots (compaq presario cds 522 among

I finaly found some 3c509b nics that could boot from a rom-o-matic.org
generated .lzdsk boot file.
