hy,
im a little bit confused - i use alsa for quite some time now, but one
of my systems (a diskless ubuntu) keeps resetting the volume of the
front_pcm chan to 100% everytime i play something through it. if i play
a song, set it to 80% it stays like that till the next song plays and
then resets.
sorry, wrong list.

is still running on the
server. what linux do you use by the way? if you are using ubuntu it might be
pretty easy to install mplayer (even better - mythtv - give it a try) to the
client. let the list know if you get it to work, and how, and if not feel
free to ask some more.

. why ? is it specific to ubuntu+ltsp that it just has more
stuff in there from the start? is there a way that i can put an ubuntu like
system on the client without changing the servers os?

hello again folks.
after spending quite some hours trying to run opengl games and wine/cvscedega
classics i came to the concluson: this is a pain in the ass. if i might say
so. here some games i tried:
quake I-iV
doom III,lxdoom
diablo 2 (with wine)
many,many opensource opengl like
good evening!
i just got an sshd to work on the client, and i thought i could use it to
controll the clients from the server. but
ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED]
asks me for a password, like i expected, but i couldnt find an /etc/shadow
file to change passwords, or look it up. what is it about this that i
hello again,
the fixed nvidia-binary archive, which herr ehrenberg kindly provided, at
first interferes with the old archive like:
api mismatch:nv kernel mod has version 1.0-8178, but x mod has 1.0-8756.
so i removed the files, and extracted to the clean /opt/ltsp/i386 dir. (with
exception of
so, i did a
rm -Rf /opt/ltsp/
and then used
ltspadmin
to reinstall what i removed,
then i copied back my lts.conf and unzipped the nvidia-binaries to my
fresh /opt/ltsp/i386 dir.
sadly, it didnt change a thing. the nvidia.ko still loads nice, but the glx
xorg extension wont, just like
Have you ever told us what
# uname -a
print out at the shell prompt of your terminal?
the terminal gives me a 2.6.16.1-ltsp-2 , as it should ,i think. i hoped i
could prevent a reinstall, but well, ill give it a try. maybe something went
wrong when updating ltsp or so. i have had this
hy again/
And what told you the log about the reason?
not much i looked at the xlog of the client, which just tells me that the glx
module could not be loaded, with an error nr 7. i dont have any idea why
this happens.
This conclusion is definitely not true, I think. The error above
happens
hy there.
(i'm booting with a flopy i've done with the site rom o matic)
take a look at the netboot and etherboot packages, i used them with an old
ndis driver for my nic to make myself a nice floppybootimage, which i wrote on
a disk and which works flawlessly. had to give it some tries though.
as i said here is a part of the clients /tmp/mnt/xorg.log. which i
unfortunatly had to copy from the other screen.
(EE) Failed to load /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.so
(EE) Failed to load module glx (loader failed, 7)
hm, i tthink i should go for some kind of centralized logging.
hello.
i am trying to turn my dual amd64 into an ltsp server an a small p3/nvidia
into a gaming client. well so far it worked quite well, i use ltsp-4.2 on a
centos4.2 server with 2.6.16-ck3 kernel. i tried the binary package from
dipe.de - the driver loads quite fine, but the glx module wont
