reset the outer margin, and you are creating the PDF from View PDF
(dvipdfm) then I'm stumped.
I would doublecheck the installation and review the Wiki page, be sure

capt-of increases the counter _and_ longtable also by default.
Insert a \addtocounter{table}{-1} helps. See example.

I'm having a strange problem with my bibliography. I think the wrong language
is being used only in the bibiliography (the rest of the document s ok). My
bibliography is generated by bibtex, and the bibtex file looks fine, but I
see things like redaktor instead of editor, etc.

I format all the stuff as Date - using line breaks, font size, \vspace
etc.

I've managed to get Captions and labels and longtables and gray headers :-)
But howcome the table numbering goes 1,3,5,7,9 ??

If you have enabled preview then you can see the tables
inside LyX in real wysiwig
