I think this is a LyX problem, because all other proggys run on FVWM
don't present with a very skinny and flaky font in the toolbar, menu
list, drop down menu's and such
The title on the window is good and I think that's set by FVWM, but

My copy of LyX 1.6.3 errors out on indexing because when LyX exports to LaTeX,
it outputs normal range type indexing entries (the ones ending in a pipe
symbol and a parenthese) with something like this:
\index{mysection|(@mysection\textbar(}
It should have looked like this:

Use the external inset. Insert > File > External Material and select
"pdfpages".

I put \usepackage{pdfpages} in preamble
and Insert the file but I get
Undefined control sequence
error.
How I can make that this works well?

a few days ago I installed LyX+MikTex under Windows 7 (Enterprise
Edition) using your "Altinstaller Complete" (i.e. LyX 1.6.3 plus MikTex)

True. It seems that Floats, by definition, cannot be split into two pages.
Given that I don't need a real float for inserting my example code snippets,
I found a better solution than manual separation of content.
I'm now using an environment that mimics an algorithm float:
