I get a repeatable crash on latex export. Quite unfortunate since
that's the only way to debug latex errors.

I try to reduce the bib file, which I created with jabref, to the cited

I am completely baffled by the following Lyx-->Latex export behavior:
1. Lyx file (v. 2.0.6) is set to UTF-8(XeteX)
2. file -i myfile.lyx confirm the file is encoded as UTF8
3. Export to Latex(LuaTeX) produces myfile.tex
4. file -i myfile.tex tells me it is now encoded as iso-8859-1
5. luala
Thanks for all your helpful comments and hints.
I see that such fancy editors like Texmaker / Texshop have some real
disadvantages in case of debugging / error finding and some slight
advantages in content visibilty.

This is done on purpose. The reason for this is to make the exported LaTeX
file as versatile as possible. This way, you can use the same .tex file with
pdflatex and latex (unless you include other stuff that wor

Hi all,
I use:
lyx --export latex myfile.lyx
and it creates a very nice LaTeX file. However, for what I need, I
need it to pass on the full name of each image (e.g. radiator.jpg, not
just radiator) and not convert to .eps. Yes, I know this won't compile
under LaTeX if it has a .jpg or .png or

Thanks, those two tickets exactly describe my problems.
Hopefully they will get fixed in some future release
To me, latex export is essential, a precondition for using LyX. I export
all my LyX document to Latex. The reason is that I want to make
sure that I can also edit them 20 years from now

without trying to convert pictures. Now if a picture already exists,
it just gives the option of 'overwrite', 'overwrite all' or 'cancel',
but no option to skip the export of that particular image.

And by the way, where are the plain old article/report templates?
I'm using texlive, and lyx1.5.1. Thanks for any tips.

It is not possible currently. But it would be an useful option.

mean there are no (easy) solutions ?

When the 'document->settings' panel is open, the above popup cannot be
started. As a result, no latex export is produced, with non
notification. I suspect it is a more general misbehaviour, certain popup
windows blocking lyx.
Can anybody confirm such behaviour?

Of most of them the place is reserved for the figure, but stays empty.
If I view the pdf file individually by using Acrobat reader, I see them all,
however there is much white space around (top, right).
